YOTA & News concerning this blog

Well, it’s the first Saturday in March, so it’s time for YOTA again. I didn’t get as much done on Theatre as I had hoped, but it’s still some visible progress. I still have some trouble with my Qsnap, because the tension loosened so much. I tried boiling the clamps, but it didn’t held much. Then I read that one should wrap the something around the clamps while boiling them, wich I tried and now the clamps are a bit to tight. But I just hope that this will get better as I use them. I know there are some replacement clamps, but I couldn’t find them in Germany and imposting them is nearly as expensive as a new frame, so if the clamps remain as tight as they are now, I guess I will go for a new frame.
But now for my progress on QS Theatre of the Absurd Trypic:

Last YOTA:

And now:

So we are getting there, slowly but but steadily…

As for this blog, I guess this will be my last real post on this blog (apart from a “hey, the new blog is up!-post). I am currently playing around with blogger/blogspot and I already created a blog. It will take a few more days until everything works (so many new gadgets, I am playing around with the layout and so on) and I will post when it is ready. But soon I will be known as Lady Stitch-a-lot and my new home will be

So I am going to take a look at the other YOTA posts and then add a few stitches to Eternal Promise =)

YOTA February

Well, here we go with YOTA once more! It’s time to get some UFOs done, I think πŸ˜‰ Since I am in a bad need for a finish, I decided to work on QS Theatre of the Absurd by Ciro Marchitti. It’s from the Haed Freebie SAL 2013 and now it is 2015. I really love the design and the pink colors, but it’s such a lot of confetti! So maybe that’s why I stopped working on this… Another point might be, that I am very used to my Millennium frame now, it doesn’t feel so good to stitch with a regular hand frame anymore. Besides, my Qsnap is loosing tension! I think the clamps are worn out. I guess I will get a new one once I order new fabric (my heart already yearns for new starts….). I never had any issues with my 11″ Qsnap, the clamps are still tight and secure, but 6″ Qsnap started loosing the tension quite soon. Maybe I just got a bad frame then…. Anyway, I plan on getting a new frame for the smaller projects in the near future.

Well, back the main topic, YOTA! Finish old WIPs and stuff! Someday!

At least I managed to pick this project up during January. It only got a few odd stitches during 2014, so improvements should be possible, lol. Here is what it looked like last year:

This is the only picture I took last year and basically, those few stitches added to the next column are I the only once I did in 2014. I guess I already did more stitching during January than in all of 2014……
Here is where I am right now:

Most of the flute player is done, he was a lot of confetti, but I think he looks great so far!

Apart from this I am working on Kreimhild. I haven’t done much, just a few hundred stitches (and a bunch of frogging). I am super busy learning for my last exam, which is on Thursday. There is still a lot of work to do for me, but I am very much looking forward to having the exam done!

Well, ich looks like I’m not going to be very successful with weekly posts. It’s been nearly three weeks since I posted. One reason is, that I am so busy these days that I hardly get any stitching or knitting done and I am lacing the time for blogging, too.
Another thing is that one of my beloved hamsters died two weeks ago and so I didn’t feel like posting then. My lovely Sofia passed away after just 18 months (I know, they don’t get that old but I still thought that she would have a few more months, especially since she was always so vital and healthy). I think her heart just stopped because she was fine until I suddenly found her in her cage. So at least she wasn’t ill and she didn’t suffer. Here is a pic I took a few months ago:
I was quite worried about her sister during the first days because she stopped eating and I think she misses her sister a lot. She always looked lost and sad in her big cage, but she is better by now. She is eating once more and very active (I got her a bunch of new toys and spent a lot of time with her) so I hope she will make it. I’m still missing Sofia but I’m feeling way better by now.

But now to something more cheerful – stitching!
I pulled out Kreimhild once more. It’s April soon which means that Kreimhild will turn 3 years! I’m a bit ashamed that she still doesn’t have two full rows but I am working on it. I am not that confident that she will have a row finish in time, but I could manage a page finish. I’m working on her hair, which is quite fun and easy to stitch. I stitched one full column and a partial column so far, it’s not that much but as I said before, I’m alcking stitching times these days. Here is how she looks now:
I also took a closeup of her beautiful face:

Besides working on Kreimhild I spent some time on QS Theatre of the Absurd, which I haven’t touched since December (I was quite impressed when I felt the need to work on it again). It’s confetti-heavy as usual, but it comes out perfectly. So here are the 400 stitches on Theatre I did during the last week:

Apart from stitching I spent a bit of time knitting. I’m still knitting socks for various people (not that much due to time and stitching). Here is a pair I started for a friend from university. The yarn is called “Bruno, der Trompeter” by Opal. The quality is amazing and I love the colors! The pattern is called “Paraphernalia” and I worked it before. It’s easy to remember and the outcome is amazing =)

And there is also a hat I started some weeks ago. It was quite warm during the last days so I couldn’t motivate myself to continue with this but now the temperatures are dropping again, so I guess I will finish this soon. I actually made this hat once before. I somehow didn’t own a hat for ages, then I found this pattern and made myself one, but now being used to wearing that thing, I lost it… Since I still had some of that fantastic yarn and it was quite quick to knit, I decided to knit this hat once again. The yarn is from fairalpaka, a company who sells fair trade alpaca yarn. Here is what I did so far:

Well, I guess I’m off now to bake a bread for tomorrow (you should try baking your own bread, it’s easy, tastes fantastic and it smells like heaven πŸ˜‰ )
Happy stitching =)

Happy new year and one last page finish for 2013!

I hope all of you made a good start for 2014. I hope this year brings you a lot of joy, health and stitching time =)

I managed to finish page 4 of Rheingold on 31st πŸ˜‰
I remember posting some goals for 2013 at the beginning of the year, but I decided to dump them half a year ago. So I’m not going to refer to them, I met some of them and there are a few I did not meet. And I am also not going to have goals for 2014 since I like to stitch on what I feel like. But I will try and stitch one page on each of my projects, so they all get some love πŸ˜‰

Anyway, I’m going to do a small review on 2013 (I feel like I barely stitched, maybe this will motivate me πŸ˜€ )

First up is Rheingold. It gained one page during the last year and currently looks like this

Next is Kreimhild, which I haven’t touched since May, but I’m planning to do so soon. I stitched 3 pages on her.
At the beginning of this year:

And now

I also managed to stitch nearly 2 pages on Yule Angel. I plan to finish the started page this month.
Here is Yule Angel in January 2013:

And now

And concerning my non-Haed pieces, on which I stitched for YOTA:
Aurora Cabin in January:
And now:

And Paris Market at the beginning of the year:

And as it looks by now:

Well, so much for my work on my WIPs, let’s have a look at my new starts:

First up is the Freebie SAL from HAED, QS Theatre of the Absurd. I stitched two pages so far:

Then there is Starlight, which I started in September. One page down, 63 to go:

And last but not least, started and FINISHED in 2013: QS A Midsummer Nights Dream!

Looking at these images I really feel like I did a bit of progress but I think I can do better. 2013 was not easy for me and I am not that sad that the year is over. I just hope that 2014 will turn out to be a better year πŸ˜‰

I’m going to make a new start now and will show you some progress pictures in a few days =)

Where did October go???

Mhm, it seems to be November. I don’t really know where the time went, obviously not into stitching… I’m still not done with the first page on Starlight, some 700 stitches to go. I’m awfully busy these days and spent my days with maths instead of my needle work. And some knitting. I made a few Christmas balls but they are already gone πŸ˜‰ I need to remind myself to take a decent picture before giving the next ones away πŸ˜‰

As for the little stitching I have done:
First up is QS Theatre of the Absurd. I’m doing my best to get page 3 done during this month, but I’m not sure if I can make it. 920 stitches in, still 2760 to go…

And here is my progress on Starlight, a lot of confetti but it looks so beautiful!

And because I’m always in need of new charts (lol) I also have an addition to my stash. I came across this chart because my favorite princess Alicia is working on this one, so I fell in love with the design and bought it during the last sale. It’s “Spiders Queen” by Little Fairy Art, who has a lot of amazing artwork (Pure Nature and Feel the Magic are fantastic, too).

I wish I had more time to stitch… So many designs I want to start…

WIPocalypse September

Well it has been ages since I made a WIPocalypse post, I nearly forgot about it… but I wanted to share a few pictures anyway… I need to flip back a few pages to find my last post, that was back in April!
So this post is going to be picture-heavy…

First up is the Freebie SAL piece which I picked up again. I’m very eager to finish the first page soon, 1600 stitches to got for that!
Here is the last time (non-WIPocalypse) you saw it, back in May

And here it is now, well a few days ago, I added some 400 stitches since then… I stitched the missing row of the page (and two line of page three so the 10×10 square was complete)

Next up is Kreimhild, on which I haven’t worked since my break up, but I guess I will try and pick her up soon. Anyway I want to post her once more because her face is so pretty, I love to look at it (and it motivates me to pick her up soon….)

Third on the list is Starlight, I decided to add it πŸ˜‰ It’s very confetti-heavy, so progress is slow, but the result is amazing… I think Michele outdid herself with this one. 3200 stitches so far:

Well, there is also Yule Angel, which got a lot of love lately and will surely get more soon: Exactly 12000 stitches!

And last but not least I want to share a picture of A Midsummer Nights Dream again because I love it!

This post could be over now and definitely would be if I were a good girl, but HAED has another sale… (thank god the last one before Christmas… So many gorgeous charts released lately….) But I only got a QS, which I just fell in love with! Will go to the frame once Theatre is done (so it will take a while…)

Anyway, here is QS Trapped by MΓ©lanie Delon

QS Trapped

Well, I’ll put a few stitches in now…
Happy stitching =)

A finish!! =)

I’m a bit late with blogging (again…) and I am sorry for that, time just flies by and I am very busy these days. It’s funny, the more I have to work, the more I stitch. I somehow manage to get more stitches in after a long day than on a free days… Well, not always more stitches, but my stitches-per-hour-count kind of explodes some days…

Anyway, I have a finish to share. It’s QS A Midsummer Nights Dream, which I introduced a few weeks back. I put in the last stitches on Thursday Night (?) and I love how it turned out.

It’s a small freebie, just 75×89 stitches, but I think it’s cute and it’s still a finish, right? It’s stitched on 25ct Lugana evenweave as usual. I guess I will try to get the SAL piece back on the Qsnap in the next days, I feel ready to face it (but I am not hoping for a finish this year..).

Apart from that QS I worked on Yule Angel. I think about one third of page 3 is done, here is how it looks now:

It’s going to rest for a while now because I decided to join the Secret Santa event from the Stash, Stitch and Honking Raketeers group on facebook. I guess the original idea was to work ones SAL piece, but I didn’t join their SAL at the beginning of this year, so I made a new start. I will post a pic at the weekend (I have to catch good light…).

I’ll really do my best to make a post during the weekend πŸ˜‰

Until then,
Happy stitching =)
