YOTA & News concerning this blog

Well, it’s the first Saturday in March, so it’s time for YOTA again. I didn’t get as much done on Theatre as I had hoped, but it’s still some visible progress. I still have some trouble with my Qsnap, because the tension loosened so much. I tried boiling the clamps, but it didn’t held much. Then I read that one should wrap the something around the clamps while boiling them, wich I tried and now the clamps are a bit to tight. But I just hope that this will get better as I use them. I know there are some replacement clamps, but I couldn’t find them in Germany and imposting them is nearly as expensive as a new frame, so if the clamps remain as tight as they are now, I guess I will go for a new frame.
But now for my progress on QS Theatre of the Absurd Trypic:

Last YOTA:

And now:

So we are getting there, slowly but but steadily…

As for this blog, I guess this will be my last real post on this blog (apart from a “hey, the new blog is up!-post). I am currently playing around with blogger/blogspot and I already created a blog. It will take a few more days until everything works (so many new gadgets, I am playing around with the layout and so on) and I will post when it is ready. But soon I will be known as Lady Stitch-a-lot and my new home will be

So I am going to take a look at the other YOTA posts and then add a few stitches to Eternal Promise =)

YOTA February

Well, here we go with YOTA once more! It’s time to get some UFOs done, I think πŸ˜‰ Since I am in a bad need for a finish, I decided to work on QS Theatre of the Absurd by Ciro Marchitti. It’s from the Haed Freebie SAL 2013 and now it is 2015. I really love the design and the pink colors, but it’s such a lot of confetti! So maybe that’s why I stopped working on this… Another point might be, that I am very used to my Millennium frame now, it doesn’t feel so good to stitch with a regular hand frame anymore. Besides, my Qsnap is loosing tension! I think the clamps are worn out. I guess I will get a new one once I order new fabric (my heart already yearns for new starts….). I never had any issues with my 11″ Qsnap, the clamps are still tight and secure, but 6″ Qsnap started loosing the tension quite soon. Maybe I just got a bad frame then…. Anyway, I plan on getting a new frame for the smaller projects in the near future.

Well, back the main topic, YOTA! Finish old WIPs and stuff! Someday!

At least I managed to pick this project up during January. It only got a few odd stitches during 2014, so improvements should be possible, lol. Here is what it looked like last year:

This is the only picture I took last year and basically, those few stitches added to the next column are I the only once I did in 2014. I guess I already did more stitching during January than in all of 2014……
Here is where I am right now:

Most of the flute player is done, he was a lot of confetti, but I think he looks great so far!

Apart from this I am working on Kreimhild. I haven’t done much, just a few hundred stitches (and a bunch of frogging). I am super busy learning for my last exam, which is on Thursday. There is still a lot of work to do for me, but I am very much looking forward to having the exam done!

YOTA 5/2014

So here we go again! Another edition of YOTA is at hand and I finally have some progress to show on Aurora Cabin. After finishing the page on Kreimhild I picked it up again and I am fairly happy with the progress I made. Here is how the cabin looked like last time:

And now:

I finally amnaged to close the gap between the actual cabin and the landscape below =) I’m not sure if I will go to the background next or do some work on the big tree which you can already see. Decisions, decisions… But well, I can’t stop working on Starlight anyway, so I have enough time to decide.

If you have some old UFOs lying around and need a bit of motivation to work on them once more, feel free to join the ride! Just head over here and sign up =) Pull the other Thread, who is hosting this event, recently managed her first YOTA finish! =) You can take a look at it here

I guess I’m going to make another post soon, Starlight is going pretty well. I did nearly half a page of it by now and I’m planning to take a picture once I am done with the current column.

Happy stitching =)

YOTA – March update

So here I am once again with a Yota-post. I somehow missed last months post, life got quite busy then. But this month I have some progress to show. I did not work on Aurora Cabin lately, but I did put a few stitches into Paris Marktet. For those of you who want to find out more about our gorgeous YOTA or take a look at the other participants work or join us on our legendary journey to a finish, just take a look here and be sure to pay a visit to Pull the other Thread, wo is hosting this event.

Last time: ParisMarket7

And now:

I did some work on the sky (you can barely see it because I added a bunch of white stitches) and the tree and I guess I will do further work on the tree. The green colors are beautiful πŸ˜‰

I finished the pair of socks I showed last time, but they were gone before I could take a picture πŸ˜‰ I pulled out Kreimhild once more and put a few stitches into her. The big plan is to make another post on her NEXT WEEKEND (let’s see how that works, lol).

First YOTA post for 2014

I know, I am a few days late for this post, but finally, here it is… With just a tiny bit of progress on Paris Market… I dearly hope to improve for next month (which is why I want to keep this post short and put a few stitches in for next month).
For those among you who have a few UFOs around and need some motivation to work on them, feel free to join us =) You can find all the information, as well as a list of all participants, here .

I did not work on Aurora Cabin lately, so there is nothing to show =(
And here is my tiny bit of progress on Paris Market… A very small difference in the tree..

Yes, this post is truly called “YOTA”, I have YOTAed!
A few days ago the lovely lady from Pull the other Thread announced that wants to continue with YOTA in 2014 and that the sign up is open. If you want to join us on our neverending journey to finish our UFOs (stitching, knitting, whatever), feel free to take a look here . I signed up for it yesterday and then I decided to give it a try and pull out one of my Dimensions UFOs. So I spent last night working on Aurora Cabin and it gained a few stitches.
The last time you saw this was back in May and it looked like this

And as of today:

It is not much, but still a little bit of progress. I’m still trying to close the gap between the house and the lake. I worked on this for 3 or 4 hours and I am proud of myself that I pulled it out πŸ˜‰ I hope for the next YOTA post (which will be in January) I will have a bit more to share πŸ˜‰

EDIT: Lol, I just noticed that the pic is very old… Looks like I did a bit of work without ever taking a picture… so you can actually see some progress πŸ˜€

In the meantime I am working on Rheingold and I am close to finishing the second column on page 4 (I guess I will do so tonight). The “R” is nearly done and I think I will share a picture when it is complete, so you can see a bit of difference πŸ˜‰

I’m currently thinking about a New Year start, but I can’t decide on what to stitch πŸ˜€ I torn between “Noble Spirit” (beautiful wintery scene and so powerful) and “Spiders Queen”(I love her mysterious and striking green eyes!). And there is also “Eternal Promise” kitted up… (the new Hobbit movie starts soon, so I feel like a trip to Middle Earth and after all, I am a little girl dreaming of romance…)

I’m just happy that I am quite good at not buying charts these days, it wouldn’t make things easier………

I hope to be able to present a finished “R” next week.

Happy stitching =)

So, it’s time for YOTA again…. Time to show my immense progress on my UFOs… Except there isn’t so much progress…. I kicked myself to get Kreimhild off the frame and to put Aurora Cabin on it, so I had a small amount of progress to show. It’s not much, but still a bit and after all, this is about taking the thing out during the month πŸ˜‰

Here is what Aurora Cabin looked like last time:
And here is how it is currently looking:
I filled in a bit of blue at the bridge and also continued to close the gap between the cabin and the lake, but there is still much left to do there πŸ˜‰ I guess I will leave this on the frame for a few more days (at least for today) to pay some attention to it, but Kreimhild will be calling soon enough. I just didn’t find the time to stitch on her, so her face is still only halfway done.

As for Paris Market, there is even less to show! I took this one out yesterday, too, and put in a few threads of green… You can see a small change in the tree….

And now:

If you need a little motivation to get your own UFOs out, feel free to join the us here πŸ˜‰

I’m off now to do some stitching =)

Happy stitching!
